Deb, how are you feeling? Better, I hope.

Actually no. There hasn't been any improvement and last night I woke three times during the night in tears from the pain. I have never been a pain wuss. I think the only thing that really knocked me down in the past was a kidney stone, other than that I can tolerate most pain issues.

This has really been getting to me.

I called the doctor when they opened this morning and they had a 10:30 cancellation I'm taking.

I need to get past this, I'm leaving Friday morning on a trip and don't want to start it in pain and no doctor available.

Two to one there is somekind of infection or severe irritation causing it. Good luck and prayers for you. Gloria Jean

Kathy - I was out of town and didn't want to post a long message from my phone. 2013 has been a horrible year for you and I sincerely hope 2014 is a much better year. I wonder if your downsizing on possessions is to get rid of things that remind you of him or his childhood. No matter what you are feeling, I'm positive that it's normal for the loss you have experienced. Again, I'm so deeply sorry.

How late are they? Did you candle them?

not super-late yet, yesterday was day 21 -- and i'll candle when i get home & take the last hatchling out of the incubator, so will see if anyone else looks promising. i'm so new to this incubator thing -- how often does one get pips starting a day or two after the first bunch hatch?

They usually hatch by breed. Some Breeds will hatch early and some will hatch late. There is often one that pips and hatches early though-show offs usually.

Within a breed, the hatch is usually over 24 hours after the first one hatches.

Isbars may be different though.

My Isbars are always last- sometimes a full day after everyone else.

Stinkers, I think they just enjoy the extra attention!

well, i had 7 isbar eggs and 11 marans eggs, and two hatched of each within 24 hours or so of each other -- no sign of pips at this point, but i'l try candling & given any that look promising a bit more time, just in case!

and the verdict is: of the five remaining isbars, one was perfectly clear, and the other 4 had small black spots, i.e. started developing but quit partway through. harder to see what's going on in the dark marans eggs, but several appear to have completely detached air cells -- and so sign of anything more to hatch.

so four it is!

hope the doctor's visit was helpful, Deb!!
