Our leaves are long gone.

No, I have no idea how to even get to that cabin. We have just under 5 1/2 acres so it's way off from our land. We are on a small mountain surrounded by higher mountains. We do have the old stone foundation of some old building at the very bottom of our land, just four corners of stones, hand stacked, plus probably what might have been a chimney. At first, we called it a campground, then realized what we were looking at. It's impossible to get it in a photo so you can tell what you are seeing, though. You'd have to be here, it's so old and covered by mosses and leaf mold, probably from the 1800's or early 1900's.

alright people, put your interior designer hats on: my house has a very weird triangular shaped open shower (i.e. no walls between it & the rest of the bathroom) that had a rotted-out floor underneath it, which my contractor has repaired -- but had to get rid of the old tile, & so I'm trying to decide what sort of tile to use in its place. the rest of the bathroom floor is 4" hexagon-shaped tile, kind of a mossy-green with a patina of gold-brown over it -- the walls are white, and the late-60s-era countertop is yellow. i can't afford to retile the entire floor, just the shower area, so am trying to decide what tile to use.

here are some photos:

I found a tile that more or less matches the underlying green of the original tile, but it's expensive -- and i could either get that in the same size hexagons, or larger (6"?) -- OR i could not try to match at all, & either use a creamy white (same size hexagons, larger/smaller?), or some other color altogether.

what do you think?

I say come down to fireclay tile and pick out some seconds in the bone yard that are a bit mix and match! And we can go have coffee...

If you were having leaks in the floor between the tiles, if it were me, I'd install a one-piece system. However, I don't know much about this.

Here are some of them....
Yes, that is why they ave moved to the all in one shower and tub systems. We hat two of the old tile on the wall things in the 1970s. We had to rebuild a lot of rotted stuff when we sold that house.

given the odd shape of this shower, and how much i love the open-to-the-room design, i'll stick with the old style -- my contractor (who is a good friend) has done a great job rebuilding the floor underneath, and it DID last for 40 years, so hoping this new one will last just as long! still undecided on tiles, after looking at a bunch today...

Whatever you do I would not go with a similar color to the existing tiles- I always cringe when I see what is obviously a poorly attempted match that just doesn't quite do it. I'd agree with white, cream, or taupe. Something more neutral and then if you redo the rest of the bathroom later it will look fine.
