The short ribs were delicious! I used this recipe, minus the lemongrass because my tiny store didn't have it. The reduction of the sauce took some time, but it was pretty simple to put together and cook for several hours.

The recipe looks like it would taste very good! When I cook short ribs I just fry it in the frying pan and flip over, fry other side, cook till temp is 180 degrees internally. Then I serve it with rice (with Coconut Aminos sprayed on rice).

I make my DH's BBQ sauce recipe sometimes, or use Heinz 57 sauce ($5-6 dollars a bottle, now!

I got a good laugh out of this. How fun it would be for kids to walk through! Make a maze! And chickens would follow the path quite nicely, too, I imagine.

(It is so nice to be able to talk about chickens with y'all and not have your eyes glaze over or put you to sleep.)

oh, i mis-read -- i thought the picture was supposed to represent you hiding from the reality of having to move. sorry! i don't have very strong rodent-phobia, so that didn't occur to me...

(edit: there are gophers here, but my cat Henry eats them happily.)

My round thermometer mounted on the deck post outside my kitchen window FROZE. It froze at 17* so I put an AcuRite out on the bench outside the kitchen door. That one says 6* and dropping. What good is a thermometer that freezes, for cripes sake?
