It sounds like Jason will have plenty of help From Spain!

We found their holes, put a hose down one of them and waited for them to come up the exit hole. A twelve gauge on scatter did the trick!
We tried the drowning technique with the hose. It worked the first time, then the other buggers dug a drainage hole. We are on a hill, so we could see the water coming out of the hole down the hill. We also tried the vibrating stick that beeps every 30 seconds - gopher popped up a hole right next to it. Haven't tried the 12 guage yet, though I might be tempted.

Yucky weather.

Cool.  I looked into importing at one time, but the breeder I wanted eggs from wasn't willing to work with me.

Glad everyone is doing okay so far.  Stay warm!  And what a nice package from your son.

Nope, gopher.  They are hard to kill, I've tried everything out there.  The last one I had pulled the whole dang trap down into the hole.  I dug around and couldn't find it.
Ron is right there may be a very good opportunity ahead with a chance that doesn't come around often

Fat little scavengers that make a mess of your yard and eat your garden. Tucker needs lessons in gopher hunting.

Everyone seems okay this morning, even at just 1*. The waterers were mostly frozen, even with defrosters, but we found it was mostly in the trays of the big waterers and when ice was removed, it glugged down. The Tiny Terrorist is being terrorized herself and is in Zane's former cage during their inside incarceration because she is the target of all young males in the coop and her 1 gallon was frozen solid so had to take her a fresh one from the house. BUT, thankfully, everyone seems to be surviving so far. Tonight will be almost as cold, then a big warm up but a period of rain is coming. Can't we catch a break??

Got a package from my son yesterday who vacationed in Europe over the holidays. He teaches in S. Korea and went to Holland and Paris and Belgium. Sent me a zippered pouch from Paris and some hand cream and lip balm, oven mitts and some interesting waffle cone-looking cookie things that were chewy and great tasting, but no idea of calorie count or actual content since nothing is in English except the price, lol. He sent his Aunt Janet some lovely fridge magnets that she collects and his brother and SIL some shot glasses which they collect so I have to get those to them. First package I ever got from the Netherlands.
Ooooh hand cream and lip balm! Oh so nice!!!

Rodents - I hate them.
How do ya get rid of them anyway? Or can you?

PS..... what happened to the ability to cross out a word - strike-threw option?

sometimes some of the tools get lost. There is a more and less button on the right side of the edit bar. If it says more, click to make is show the rest of the tools.

I had to clear my cache for my web browser so I am having trouble getting into this thread again. I'll have to download FireFox again. What a pain in the neck!

I am making huge changes to my website and orienting it more towards chickens. We changed the theme, very much a work in progress and probably not the final one we'll use. I also changed the name from Everyday Miracles and Mayhem at the Buck 'n Run Ranch to .......drum roll please.

the Egg Farm ! I love it and was surprised the domain was still available. All the other good names have been bought up and people are asking big bucks for them!

Anyway, check it out but be kind. We were up almost all night just getting it to where it is now. The theme is a premium theme but a lot of farmers use it so we are trying to make it look unique to the Egg Farm. We like the functionality of the built-in store. You can still go to my old website and you'll get rerouted to the new one until we are ready to commit 100%.

Oh, and I have 24 Isbar eggs incubating. I have high hopes.

Oh, and today is my 65th birthday!
