Stella's Social Club

Kathy, are you sewing curtains yet? I got so lonely sewing down in the basement, that I moved everything upstairs last night! Well, Michael moved the big stuff. We have three empty bedrooms on a separate wing so I thought, why not? We rarely have guests anymore, especially a crowd. I took the smallest of the rooms, the one without a closet. The daybed is in there for a quick nap, plus a television. There is a bathroom across the hall and a built in ironing board four steps down on the stair landing. Who's does that?????

Hey Rinda! I think it will work great for a sewing room. I have been challenged since moving here to put every space to use. That awkwardly located ironing board is mine now! I wonder how many other people have an ironing smack in the middle of the stairs? I guess you never have to go all the way to the top or all the way to the bottom to iron a shirt no matter where you are in the house!

How are the Isbars Rinda? Of the 22 eggs I set, one is getting ready to pip any minute, the sole survivor to hatch day. I have another 14 incubating, mine and shipped eggs.

That is a rather interesting place for an ironing board.

First "clean" batch was only 3 eggs and 2 blacks hatched. They are just over a week old. The point I lost them at last summer was 3-4 weeks so I'm not ready to call it good yet. I have another batch due next week of 10 all kicking good in their eggs. They will be the true test batch. I'm getting 2-3 eggs per day from 2 hens and 1 pullet.

Just finished updating my website for spring, here are some of the pictures I took this weekend!

Ameraucana flock

My FIRST Barnevelder egg!!!

the double-laced Barnies.

BCM eggs- they are a little darker in person than the photo shows.

The black Isbar cockerels are just STUNNING!

Blue Isbar pair

Cream Legbar eggs- the pullets are laying up a STORM!

Cream Legbars, of course!

Exchequer Leghorns. I have tried and tried to find a good source of these, had one but she fell through so these are just hatchery birds for now.

Jubilee Orpington Pullet!

Swedish Flower Hens

My pretty little splash Isbar pullet
