Hey, all, Ladyhawk and I have thrown quite a few things to our Ebay seller listings to move them out. You'd be amazed at the deals so check out the seller ID blueroocreations on Ebay right now. If they have to stick around until next fall, I seriously may have to add a room onto the house to make room for spring stuff, lol.

I think of it as healing progress. She lost some of her chicken love last year after Michael passed away. I think it's good that she's thinking chickens again. (or any of her hobbies)

I AM thinking chickens again. However, I must be reasonable! This guy does not like the C Legbars, because he said they are too flighty for his taste. Are yours? Heck, I was just thinking of the pretty eggs!

Today I cleaned out an empty coop and pen to move my New Hampshires in. I thought I could hatch a few and see how I feel about that. Mike is in this with me...... since we are both retired now. However, the plan has been to take these birds to Nebraska, to give to my friend, Jeremy. In the mean time, I will hatch a few.

Yesterday was a beautiful day and I worked outside most all day, in the layers coop. It is nice having Mike home to help me too. I kept looking around at my flock. (Really, not so many - comparatively speaking!)

So today, the high was only in the 20s and I still worked outside - AND I enjoyed it! It wasn't windy or anything, so it was tolerable.

My Barred Rocks have been penned for quite awhile and they all have beautiful bright yellow legs. Yeah, that's right..... they are not laying at all !

I guess they want to take off the entire winter!

PS..... A friend has set 18 of my Icelandic eggs. I think I will keep the chicks...... maybe. We'll see. Honestly, they are just the best layers and so easy to care for. I love them.

Really, my little CL's are very sweet and seem to be pretty efficient feed-wise - the roosters are calm and good tempered, although not overly social. And they are pretty.

I would still like to get some really nice Delawares, they are such great birds - my 2 girls are good producers and good flock mates.
