I invested in the prebuy program this year and locked in the price for my propane - about 2 mortgage payments but was it ever worth it this year.

Have fun at the show - that and the new foliage sounds heavenly. Oh well, only 3 months to go here until spring.

Honestly, I don't know what exactly I am getting! I do not believe he is hatching, so likely not chicks.
I am thinking they will be started birds or adults. How many? I do not know!

I am so disappointed. Just candled for lockdown and over half are late quitters. Of either shipped eggs and eight of my own I have six, two are probably quitters and I just don't want to admit it.

How I hate this Brinsea cabinet incubator!

I have a friend in Ca who breeds raptors, pricey and rare ones.

He had a lawsuit against Brinsea for the failure of his cabinet incubator, lost thousands of dollars worth of eggs. At the same time he had a couple GQF styro incubators, with quail eggs, they were in the same room and worked fine. Brinsea still hasnt come through on their part.

The only Brinsea product I will ever own is the digital thermometer. Which I dont think they actually make.

So Kathy, let us know how many roosters you got this time.

Its winter in the lower UP also, plus far more snow then any of past years. Life goes on. And it is cold.

Interesting article in new Scientific American mag on chickens brains, a lot of discussion on what I call for a good Flockmeister. And also on the hens behavior with chicks. Actually have had studies on traits we discuss here.
