I bought it to hatch peafowl, the humidity is 60% for the entire incubation period. I only have used it for one hatch 6/10 hatched, the 4 that did not hatch never developed. So it worked well for me for it's one use.
Mary, great photo, congratulations on the double publishing.
ETA: The poultry show photos were really nice, too.
I like the ruffle on the tote Cyn. Now that my sewing machine is upstairs I may use it more often. Might try shopping totes. Or not. I bought patterns and fabric for aprons when they were all the rage and only made small ones for the grandkids.
Anybody having a Superbowl Party or just making game day food? Since the 49er's lost to Seattle in the playoffs I have little interest in the actual game but I do want to make some snacks. I have been doing that for 40 years so why stop now. I am going to try to cook, photograph and serve one dish per quarter. That will be tough to pull off since I cook on the main floor and photograph in the basement. My camera also gets error which have to be corrected before it will shoot. I can fix "error 99" and "error 4" but if I get an "error 70" its all over. I also shoot with my camera wirelessly tethered to my iPad. If Cam Ranger flakes on the wireless part or the battery in my iPad dies I am hosed. You can see this mission is perilous at best!
Thanks Diva! I have to admit I haven't taken my food photography camera off the vertical position on the tripod for months! Maybe I learned something in the classes?
The food porn sites mostly accept only square photos so verticals are much easier to crop. I still like the uniform look of horizontal for my blog, but I have to get my food photos published online to get people to the blog to see them. So I adapt. Reluctantly.
Has anyone had a hen go broody a year after she stops laying? My sweet Skye has been in the nest box for two days. Maybe she leaves when I am in the house but she has been obsessed with the nest boxes since the curtains went up.
She has raised several clutches since I got her four years ago from Pips 'n Peeps as a mature layer.
I hope she is thinking about babies and not felling poorly. She is a sweet girl and I would hate to lose her so soon after losing Martha. For now she looks fine. Maybe she'll be back in the run tomorrow. If not, she'll be raising Isbar babies.

she looks like she wants babies! I have had one go broody before they start laying, but I have not had chickens long enough to have ones that stopped laying ( besides my oe, and she is not old shes just weird!)
I have 2 like your sweet Skye. They want to brood constantly! I do love them though.
Mary, your new website confuses me. Of course, it doesn't take much to confuse me. hahaha I see no way to leave comments on some of your posts. Like the poultry show.... does it not accept comments? It is gonna take me awhile to get use to your changes.
