I am part of a blogging group that makes and posts an Ina Garten recipe the first Friday of every month. The theme this month was appetizers and drinks. My submission: Roasted Shrimp Cocktail
Great picture though I can't help but think about the scene in Beatle juice with the hands coming out of the shrimp cocktail lol :)

I made buttermilk rolls tonight, and they were quite good - 1/2 wheat, 1/2 all purpose flour. No picture, I'm not going to attempt to compete with Mary's beautiful photographs. I'm getting better at making rolls. When we were first married, DH referred to my rolls as hockey pucks.

He ate 3 rolls, so they aren't hockey pucks anymore!

I need to make rolls tomorrow!

Where the buttermilk rolls yeast raised?

You can use any type of flower in bread as long as you use 1/2 all purpose or bread flower. We used to make bread using 4 or 5 flours along with bread flour.

Thank you for asking.
I am not going to complain. I think I just need to learn to "live with it."

Beautiful photo! I have never had a shrimp cocktail. Is it tomato juice? Does it have alcohol? I don't eat fish or seafood.

Shrimp cocktail is tomato based but has Horse radish in it!

It is very tasty with shrimp.

I love fried popcorn shrimp, but not cold shrimp at all. Fabulous photo, though. Don't think I've ever had shrimp cocktail, either, but since it's cold, wouldn't appeal to me.

Shrimp Cocktail is at least a West coast thing. Have you had mussels on the half shell? That is huge in San Francisco, Seattle and several other West Coast places.

Nope and don't intend to. Nor oysters, either. Ick. I love tilapia pr flounder friend or grilled, smoked Alaskan salmon and popcorn shrimp, but not much else.

I do recall my mother eating the store bought shrimp cocktail, though, when I was a kid. She was born in Alabama and never got far from the south.

Halibut is a great tasting fish, along with Red Snapper.

Alaskan Salmon is wonderful! I used to go fishing for Steal head trout in the Sacramento river. They are very tasty too.

Sadly my Daughters think they will die if I cook fish.

Love Halibut and Snapper...do not like salmon...too mushy, although smoked is fine.
