Kelly, I'd need to go back and find his exact quote to me about Indy, who was out of Ida and Isaac, but looked almost pure, and breeding him back to one of the original Rex's daughters (that would be Druscilla, the only one I got) and I think also his mother to start back toward the Stukel type. Let me search for one of his suggestions to me on that super long thread. I may be able to find it. Indy was unfortunately killed by Isaac (lucky blow to the back) and so Rex is the next best male I had, really the only choice. Rex is stocky with nice top line and no off colors, though he's single factor barred.

ETA: Can you say needle in a haystack???

I can't find that quote, but that is one long thread and this search doesn't bring up stuff I know is in there. But, I'm not sure it was the breeder's thread. Could have been the plain old Plymouth Rock thread. Will have to check when I don't have this headache.
If it was the Heritage large fowl thread, some of it is missing now. Parts are in the Phase II thread.

Adorable babies Speckledhen! Pretty mama too.

Swallows are back swooping around the nestboxes here! Yay! They eat a lot of skeeters.

I am going to try to fry some shrimp today in honey butter and sprinkle lime juice and cilantro over it. Hopefully it works out- I have never fixed shrimp like that before. We bought shrimp yesterday- don't usually buy it but maybe twice a year, but the salmon at Costco had gone WAYYYY up in price. No salmon for us. :(

It used to be about $23 per bag of frozen salmon and you got quite a lot in that bag- now it is $37 per bag. We used to buy it maybe three- four times a year. Well NO times a year I guess now.

(Then we went to Fred Meyer and looked at their fresh and frozen salmon and it was the same thing- very very expensive.)

My two kids and DH are quite happy with frozen chicken breasts and rice...I cannot justify the expense of the salmon. The shrimp bag (large large bag) was $23 or so. It will definitely feed all four of us.

x2- cute lil thing!

My shrimp turned out fantastic.

Butter, a bit of honey butter, garlic powder and shrimp in frying pan until cooked/warm.

Tossed with diced tomatoes, cucumbers, chopped cilantro, and poured some of the pan juice over the rice. Sprinkled lime juice over concoction afterwards.

DH and one of my sons loved it (second son didn't want shrimp).
