Stella's Social Club

Thanks. I had a monster egg laid by my RIR the other day. Have been waiting to open it. Did it today, was a double.. scrambled it up with these two little ones, and had a nice half an egg sandwich for lunch. Had enough left for the chickens, and some for the dog. Here's the monster egg. I go from huge, to tiny!

They go on walks? Just like little dog..I mean like big dogs. Only bigger. Yes, a bit bigger. This is so cute. You live in a lovely area!

I am still in shock. I found this snake inside the coop.

I am now looking for Minnow traps to trap the snakes.....

What kind of snake is it? I did not hear a rattle

Yikes!

Black rat snakes can have patterns similar to that, it's hard for me to tell for sure in the photos. Does it look like any of these black ratsnake photos?

The nice thing about rat snakes is keeping the rodents down, also they will eat poisonous snakes like rattlers and copperheads. IF you can relocate it or keep it out of your coop LOL! We don't want any eggs or chickies being a snack!

Woodland is warming up too. Sunday is supposed to be 104 to 105 degrees. The weather forecast says it will cool down by the middle of next week but I see another 100 degree round after that.

I hope we do not have a super hot summer!
the good news is it makes it easier to move my mostly feathered chicks out to the grow out pen early . I had 33 in my brooder and it was getting to be tight. Plus I have 14 in my big fish tank brooder

Jack and Diane got out for a walk today.

So sweet.

who is walking who lol

Michael walked them both which is always a big challenge. This is their first time off the property since we moved in almost two years ago. They have so much more acreage to roam here so I haven't walked them on the road. The drivers are crazy on this road. Michael promised he would walk in the road so that the nuts would have to hit him before hitting the donkeys. I agreed to that. :)

They were so well behaved and remembered their training. We let them graze by the wagon as a reward. It was fun.
