I wonder if you can find pinless peepers large enough for LOCA. Hasn't she had at least three major strikes so far? Do people make EMU soup? If she were a rooster she would have been long gone.

Ok, after all the years of having pullets starting to lay, I've never seen this before..have you? My LF black OE was in the nest box today..I was soo excited, couldn't wait to see the color. She went to where my RIR had laid her egg..of course. I waited until I saw her out in the yard, and this is what I found. Two. The size of little bantam eggs.

Congratulations! That is a nice color.

My guess is that the one with the line was a bit stuck yesterday.

Yes ron, and it also has cracks in it..didn't show that part..on the other side. I haven't cracked them open yet. I should check. She's been mouthy the last few days, I knew she was getting close. Poor thing..she was panting so hard, I thought it was going to be a big first egg..well, it sort of was I guess.

Cracked them open. The smaller egg had a real thin shell, the other had a nice shell.

Thanks. I had a monster egg laid by my RIR the other day. Have been waiting to open it. Did it today, was a double.. scrambled it up with these two little ones, and had a nice half an egg sandwich for lunch. Had enough left for the chickens, and some for the dog. Here's the monster egg. I go from huge, to tiny!
