Thank you everyone. This fire is a beast now. messaging Yubanet it has 3 fronts. you can see dark smoke billowing up from where I was standing on Sly Park Dam probably maybe 2 miles away as a crow flies.

Linda lives south of me maybe 8 miles and Deb 20 miles west so they are ok. I think Deb's son lives close to Pollock Pines though can not remember for sure

Jason how scary! Hoping and praying that they get this stopped. Relieved that the firefighters who had to deploy their shelters today were not injured. we need rain so badly now and all winter long.

Rinda, get your son a electric toothbrush, like a crest spinbrush - they make them for kids too. They do a much better job of cleaning the teeth and the kids enjoy it more.

I tried that- he hated it.

Handed it down to my 4 year old who loved it. Maybe I need to try a different brand or different head shape.

I really hope they get the fire stopped before it gets to houses. 2,500 firefighters are fighting this and almost 13,000 acres - it is just massive. I hope everyone involved stays safe. Such difficult terrain to be working in. I see they closed Hwy 50 as well.

It's sad it is burning up to where the Cleveland fire was all those young trees. It is tough terrain very mountainous there they have done a incredible job keeping homes safe , incredible. , they will be updating the acerage soon, yesterday afternoon when they said 12700 bridal veil falls area was green now the whole north side is gone,
