Stella's Social Club

Glad to hear you are feeling better, Mary.
The pictures look great. (We need more though) . . .

We had another visitor at the pond today. (The Greylag Goose is still there, too)
This is a Great Blue Heron.

Female Canada goose is setting here (on the right). Greylag and male Canada goose are at her side all the time. I don't know why she always sits on this peninsula. The island has at least 4 or 5 females setting. Two little ducks visiting here too. I guess I did not get a picture (but I did get it on video!). . .

The male Canada goose has a leg band on. I would like to be able to read it!

I am going to Joplin tomorrow. (About 60 miles). I haven't told Mike yet.

I am going to pick up 12 chicks. Orps. English Orps. . . .
4 Red, 4 White, 4 Red Cuckoo.

Beautiful photos. I'm curious - how come the Canadian goose drake doesn't run off the Greylag? I know they are very territorial and protective of their mate.

I wonder the same thing! Both of them act like her protector. They seem to be buddies! I wanna see what the goslings look like!

Thanks everybody! No answer today. deadline for seller to respond is 5:00 p.m tomorrow. I spent the day baking bread and cooking to keep busy. I made three French baguettes and. Big loaf of butter top sandwich bread. Tonight for dinner I made a delicious riff on an Ina Garten recipe. Giant shrimp in a sauce of sautéed fennel, onion, garlic and tomato purée. It was excellent. Dunking French bread straight out of the oven into the sauce was soooooo good.

The house is being shown tomorrow afternoon, late. Too bad the aroma of fresher baked bread will be gone by then.

I had to give up Kelly's Easter chicks that I have been babysitting, They were little stinkers. I had to tape down the brooder lid. I am so used to hatching Icelandics and oddball breeds that it was fun to see a little swarm of matching chicks. maybe if I get a place where I can keep chickens I'll get a cull pullet. :fl. They can't all be show quality. :D

ps   does the house have a room for your photography studio?

Not a dedicated room but lots of storage so I should be able to keep some of my gear. I am going to par down the dishes and serve ware because some items I have never used. I see to have my favorite go to plates.

The deal for the new place is so tentative that I am not getting my hopes up and posting a bunch of pics.

It has a really odd floor plan and a lot of unfinished interior projects. There is no living room, just a small den. I love it but Michael is concerned that there isn't enough room. It will be tight with guests, but most of the time it is just the three of us. When Kely visits she just rolls around on the floor playing with Tucker until he pukes so that's will be fine.
