My son is SO excited today- Daddy said he could tag along and help work the bees! He's all ready with his bee suit (from Christmas), two books, and his Nintendo DS (Pokemon is his current addiction). Love this kid!

And WOW at this super light and clear honey we extracted this morning! Nothing beats fresh honey!

Boy, that honey looks good and so does your son. I know mine never would have wanted to work with bees (me neither). Just nintendo and now computers. Your puppies are probably more adorable now than in first pictures - hint.

Wow, light honey. I hear tulip poplar makes light delicious honey. Mine last year was a dark Amber from mostly blackberries. It will be interesting to see what my honey color is this year.

Mary - $24? For how large of a container?

I love raw honey, buy local raw honey all the time for my herb tea.

It's not very "picturesque" like Mary's photos are, but here are my first ever homemade bread & butter pickles from cucumbers out of the garden. These are the type you just refrigerate, no actual canning to it. We need to make the other kind, too, since I can't have 50 jars of pickles in my refrigerator and likely, the two of us would not eat them all in optimal time.

Nice looking pickles Speckledhen! I can't wait for my cucumbers to finally start.

LOL.... not MUCH different until their eyes open. Anxiously awaiting! Hoping all the merles have blue or marbled eyes like last time.

Took a picture of Bella this morning for her soon-to-be-mommy to see. Sleeping, eating, and pooping machines!

Thanks. These are mostly Boston Pickling cucumbers and they really need a lot of room! These are now climbing the fence and still blooming. Should have jars of bread & butter and dill pickles lined up before it's all said and done. I'm trying several recipe variations to see which I like best.
