Stella's Social Club

Well, don't move to California, the state of entitlement.

Good news and bad news. They removed all contingencies, but there are indications that they plan to be difficult until the very end. And in order to do some of the repairs, we have to move out a week before closing escrow. And, we don't have a house to move into, so we will be officially homeless in a little over two weeks. Kelly, can we park the motorhome in front of your house like Randy Quaid in Christmas Vacation?

"Shitter's full!"

Your beast of a motorhome wouldn't be able to make it up my driveway! Somehow, I'm picturing Michael as Randy Quaid.

My favorite of all the daylily colors I have here.

And the tomato jungle. I'd say planted a tad too close together, but hey, they were only an inch tall when he planted them except the first row of jumbo sandwich types.

First Park's Whopper turning.

Will have to remove this fence to get to the plants, ack!

So many pictures to comment on! Love the pups - can't wait to see them at the staggering around-toddler stage. Soup looks yummy and you are a hair artist! Fun!

Cyn, you're lucky to be able to even see your daylillies - mine have been devoured, again, by the marauding deer! I planted a whole bunch of fancy varieties long ago, before I knew they were the deer's favorite food. Now and then one little puny one in the back makes it to bloom. It's so discouraging.
Your tomatoes are amazing! I foresee pictures of jars and jars of canned tomatoes soon!

Most of the daylilies are in a fenced off garden space in a bed with those in front, then bearded irises and in the back, gladiolus that rarely bloom for some reason. The deer could jump into it but I don't think they ever have.

somebody must love tomatoes
We love salsa and we keep stewed tomatoes for making chili, stews and other tomato-based dishes throughout the year. And I love a fresh slice of garden ripe tomato with Duke's mayo on toasted bread. Sometimes, I add a pinch of salt on the tomato but these really don't need it.

Kelly, when my son worked at a nursery when he was a teenager, he bought me lots of daylily bulbs. I brought them here and planted them and they've multiplied. Then, my dad gave me lots of double bloom orange ones which are in beds next to the driveway turnaround. The deer chomp on azalea that aren't protected by nets but they rarely touch the daylilies for some reason.

Well crumb drama of my own. Hubby got laid off today. Ugh. We are going to take the weekend to recoup and hit the grindstone Monday morning.... not the first time and probably won't be the last. Grateful for our health, that no major expenses are looming, and that we do get a small severance package.
