I wish I would have had a camera out with me this morning. First thing I see off in the distance is a blimp flying by. Then when I went to feed the ducks, one was broody, she was sitting on a bunch of apples that had fallen.

I threw all the apples from their pen into the pasture, I'm certain more will fall so I'll see if she gathers more up.

Getting the hives ready for fall honey flow and winter. This is row #1. We are moving the hives over to this area of the pasture slowly but surely. Hubby mowed tonight so tomorrow we can set more blocks and get the last 10 hives moved over there. We are going into winter with 20 full hives at home and 13 at our other two apiaries, our largest number yet. He wants to focus on selling queens and nucs next year with the extras (provided they make it through winter).


I've got another picture but I will refrain from sharing it- a HUGE (probably 5 ft long) black ratsnake that lives in the wellhouse. We've spotted him from time to time since we moved in but I've never seen his whole body at once. He stays in the wellhouse for the most part so I let him be since I'm sure he's eating mice, if I ever catch him back in the chicken yard it's another story.
