Stella's Social Club

There is a lot of equipment for bee keeping and honey extraction.

Is it possible to share equipment? Is it hard to travel with it? I've considered getting a hive and it's becoming a trend, but I'm not sure of the work and expense. Average here is $8 a pound. I do like honey in my tea. I've also put it in my applesauce. Maple syrup too.

Pics of the chick with they egyptian mark near the eye. It was much more noticable when the chick was younger. Can you see?

I've seen it in my Dels before and thought nothing of it until now. All chicks do not have it and that's why I'm asking about it.

I will band this chick to see how it turns out. AND any others that may hatch. I may have to start a second flock of Delawares.

If you join a local beekeepers association, you can usually rent the equipment. I've been buying my stuff slowly.

You can also crush and strain, you don't have to have an extractor - it just makes it quicker, and you don't have to destroy the comb every year.

I'll be getting three young pullets next week to complete my little flock. I have a cream legbar, olive egger, and golden cuckoo Marans coming from papaspoultry.

I may actually have fresh eggs this spring!

Need another eye exam - think I am seeing SPOTS!!
