Stella's Social Club

thank you Mutt's Fan, that number reflects dishes piled in the sink, beds unmade, leaves waiting to be raked, etc. etc. Nothing gets in the way of BYC. Sometimes I forget to eat - gasp. But sitting in a chair for hours doesn't burn calories.

Oh, but if it did............

Yesterday I turned this little cabinet, made in Mexico ....

Into this...

I need to take a better picture, but right now it is in the garage with horrible lighting. I am going to try to get a little up cycling program going. I really enjoy furniture painting so I thought, why not. This was a real grody little piece and the sanding alone took hours. I think it would be fabulous in a Spanish style home. Anyway, I will be listing it today on a couple of my Facebook groups. It's not a color for my home but the style of the piece told me to go bold. The rusty hardware is awesome.

I used pure milk paint and finished it with clear wax. I will apply another light coat today.

We do get tornadoes but they are not very strong.

This was from a thunder storm--they say high winds--in Chico, which is a Valley town about two hours north of Sacramento yesterday:

I bet it was a low strength tornado.

This is the exact spot I was standing taking pictures of the fake deer yesterday. This morning Michael and I watched as a big branch broke off the oak tree and fell down!

I guess we'll have a little real firewood now instead of the Duraflame logs we are using!

John just left with our final payment for the remodel. Amazing what we got done for the price he charged us! I am so relieved.

He also had his brother make these custom railings for the step down into the family room! Johnny painted them to go with the oil rubbed bronze in the house. He drilled into the concrete and installed them with anchors and big bolts into the wall. They aren't going anywhere! He wouldn't let us pay for them!

Holy cow, that's a big branch! Glad it didn't fall on you!

Those are gorgeous.

Mary, I love those railings.

Here is a girlfriend for Tucker. Her name is Sophie and she's at the local Humane Society. Maybe you should let him drool over her photo for awhile tonight.

Her write-up:
So, this is our new girl, Sophie. Sophie is a Cairn Terrier, 4-5 years old. She weighs in at 20 lbs now. (5 lbs of that may be dirt).
Sophie is Heartworm Negative and spayed. She is getting a bath today and updated on all her shots. I’ll post some glamour shots when she gets cleaned up. The perfect fuzzy lap dog.
