HI Kathy!

How is Mike's recovery progressing?

The hay bale thing sounds interesting. This time when we make garden beds, we are using my construction method! Long boards with 4x4's in each corner. I may even leave the 4x4s tag enough to drape frost cloth over so I can grow into the early winter.

All that, or I'll just keep my subscription to the CSA going forever!

Mike is doing better, as far as less pain anyway. He has lost so much muscle mass. I am shocked how quickly that happens. He hates crutches, so he is using a walker to get around with. He is out of bed today and sitting on the couch. Since the swelling has subsided, I think it is ok. On Wednesday he goes back to see the doctor.

Ya know, I was thinking of making a few raised beds, too. Then I read about the hay bales and thought that might even be easier. I dunno . . . . maybe I will try both of them.

Mary keep up your end okay? You used to keep us spell bound with your singing animals, goats with head caught in gates, emu pandemonium but, now there is just Tucker. Honestly we just don't see him enough. The food photos are good but, not like the videos you used to shoot. You spoiled us and then cut us off

. The only thing beckoning to us is an old age home - insert deep sigh here!

Tucker is still acclimating to the laminate floors. I am sure he'll start performing soon though.

He had a friend over for Thanksgiving. My sister brought her little dog Winston. They had a blast. Winston likes to slide on slick floors but Tucker took a pass on that.

Speaking of food pics, I made a frittata for breakfast. It was sooo good!

Kathy, thanks for the update. I am glad to know he is up a bit. I don't blame him about the crutches. Ouch, they hurt. I guess the old saying "use it or lose it" is true as it applies to muscle mass. Hopefully he will regain what he lost after healing. I'll bet he was glad to be out of the hospital and back home. Nothing like live-in nursing care!

I wish I had a chef or a cook. I am so sick of cooking (and waiting on everyone.) "I'm hungry. I'm thirsty. . . . ." I am constantly running to the kitchen for something for someone. Tyler and Taylor are coming out tomorrow to give me a break. I need to go to Walmart and pick up a few groceries at least. OR - - - - I could go over to the guest house and take a nap! :)
