Cold, windy, and wintry here this morning. I am still under the blankets watching a Flea Market Flip marathon. Tucker slept with Michael last night so I am all alone. They won't come out of hibernation till spring. :yesss:

6 degrees again up here this morning. I decided to wait until 8am to take the dogs out, thinking it would be warmer. Not really at 9 degrees.:/

We are cold and wet, nearly 5 inches of rain in the last week!!! And it's not supposed to stop until Monday night. At least it has slowed to a misty drizzle instead of the hard rain we had Thursday and Friday. So grateful we missed the worst of the cold front, many of my friends in central Oklahoma are dealing with ice rain, power outages, and incredible tree damage (and resulting pen and coop damage).

We were in the high thirties this morning, but it has been cold all day. We are expecting a freeze tonight. I cooked all day for fun.

Made these first, then a pot roast for dinner. I saw these on The Best Thing I Ever Made. Andrew Zimmer's recipe from his travels. Really good!

More coop remodeling done today. Last night at bedtime we took Tucker out for a potty run. We found four chickens in the run, the three littles and the Isbar. The door is closing when it should, but I think Judy and Stella peck and annoy the others and they jump off the roost and end up outside before the doors closes. I have watched them do it from the window. So, we moved the nest boxes to make space for another roost far enough away from the first roost that the bullies can't reach the others. I just went out and checked and everyone made it in. The four older ones are on the original roost and the three littles are on the new one. I hope this works! We also added extra fortification to the gate to prevent coons be able to push it in.

Ok, now am I done coop remodeling? Please....I have so many other things I want to do!

Kelli, six? Seriously? Did you by any chance moved to North Alaska while I wasn't watching? Even here we were in the twenties this morning.

Hope, just in the mountains if CA. We had a cold front move through. Thankfully we are home now to a warm 32 degrees.

Kelly do you live up in the mountains?  My brother said that gets cold.   We were in the 20's last night and supposed to hover around 40 during the early week with more rain.

No, I do not live in the mountains, but we visit frequently. My family has had a cabin in the mountains since I was 8 years old.

Sheesh, tell those old gals to leave the young ones alone.
