Stella's Social Club

I knocked that **** jack in box off the box and into the flower bed next to the box. It was the early 70's and I had two young kids and a friend with her two kids in the car. We were going camping and I forgot I was towing a camper behind my van. I went through the drive thru. After placing our order I pulled forward and turned the corner. The trailer plowed Jack down, speaker system and all! Wires were everywhere. I was so scared that I would have to pay for a whole new jack and the box! The manager met me at the food pick up window. He said it was my lucky day. Someone else actually knocked it down earlier in the day. Insurance adjusted came right out and deemed it totaled. They had filed a claim with his insurance and had no interest in me! He sent me on my way without even asking my name. We got to the campsite and used twigs wrapped with wet paper towels to scrape the black paint off my white van. My husband and my friend's husband were due there any minute to meet up with us. I disconnected the camper so I could park the van and everything would look normal. While moving the van I backed up and drove right into the fire pit with a fire going. We poured water on the fire to keep my tire from burning. The big metal fire ring flipped down when I ran over it and now my tire was smack in the middle. I couldn't drive it out because the back of the ring would flip up under the chassis as I tried to lay the front part of the ring down with my tire. We finally realized that we were going to have to Jack the van up, tilt the fire ring up until we could pull it out. It took forever but we got it done, parked the van, started a new fire and were waiting, like innocents when the guys arrived. The kids had been sworn to secrecy. The moment the men walked into the campsite, the kids burst out laughing and shouting about what had happened. It was chaos. "She drove into the fire ring and her tire was smoking." "We had to scrape paint off the van from when we knocked down the Jack in the box." Etc, etc, aargh! You hit one **** clown and set your tire on fire and everyone makes a big deal about it.

Oh my gosh what funny stories! Hilarious!

A local business played Santa's Helper and made a delivery to our house yesterday. I was speechless and in tears by their generosity. We are set for a wonderful Christmas.
How wonderful!

Since we are on the topic of funny family stories...............

My grandparents were very proper people. You were always expected to act like an adult, even as a child. My grandmother grew up in boarding school.

So when my aunt and my father were in high school, my grandparent's went to a friends party. My dad and aunt decided to stage the house like a murder scene, and put ketchup all over themselves and the kitchen. They laid there for so long that they got tired of waiting for them to get home. So they got up, cleaned it all up, went to bed, and my grandparents never knew.
Funny.

A few people coming to buy my chickens. First one is coming just after noon and is taking 20. The others, I think, each want 5 or 6. A friend of mine that I use to work with will probably take all the rest (that I don't decide to keep).

I am having a hard time deciding who can go.

I'm thinking you know the feeling, Mary.

It is hard to downsize. Good luck Kathy.

Ditto on how is the hubby doing?

Yesterday, I got my English Toffee made. Now I just have to stay out of it until I give it away.

All feeders got filled in preparation for this next storm that is supposed to be with us for a week. I hope it has LOTS of snow with it for the mountains! I took advantage of the brief 51* weather to take a quick peek in on the bees to make sure they have enough pollen patty for the next week. They were good, and I closed them up quickly. Everything is now all set for this storm.

Good news on the bees Kelly! Storm is here for sure. My sister wants me to go to the Christmas celebration in Old Town tomorrow night but I don't think the weather will cooperate. Plus I suffered through a salon day today so I can't get my hair wet. :lau
