On a brighter note, and despite the fact we have several feet of snow and planting will not start for at least another 2 months, I bough seeds -

From Renee's Garden -
Lauren's Dark Grape Poppy - 4-5" blossoms of ruby-purple
Pepperbox Poppy - old-fashioned blossoms in purple, red and pale pink, with pods that can be harvested for use in baking
Dancing Petticoats Cosmos - mix of tubular, semi-double and standard shaped in pink, magenta, rose and white
Super Sugar Snap Peas - grow 5 feet tall with larger than regular sized pods, I am going to plant these right in the middle of my flower garden and grow them on a teepee
Birds and Bees Sunflowers - seed-type with big yellow flowers, 5-6' tall
Heirloom asian green Rosette Tatsoi - never heard of it before but sounds interesting

Then Buttercrunch and Tom Thumb lettuce from Cornucopia

Hope springs eternal

I feel happy just reading this!

I spent the weekend before last painting this. It's in a house we are renovating. My husband built the mantle, and I painted it, the walls, the epoxy on the hearth and the stain on the redwood. You can see the kitchen cabinets through the pass through. They still need to be done.

Very nice!

Nice list! Several feet of snow on the ground doesn't sound very pleasant.

Yes spring is in the air here, too! Lovely weekend, in the 70s! Rain coming Tuesday.

My mom took me and the kids to see Shrek the Musical at the local high school yesterday. It was cute. Look who my girls got to meet afterwards!
