Operation broody is off to a rough start. I should not have tried to move her. Should have left her in the box until tonight and just given her the babies. She freaked out! So now the babies are snoozing under the Ecoglow in my bathroom until I can get them under the broody. (she's not back on the nest yet)

Here's the babies though, both Cream Legbars. See how much Mary loves me -she even gave me a white one. (she did have 2 more whites)

And the turkeys are settled in. They are trying to walk on water (literally IN the waterer) and trying to get themselves stuck in any crevice they can. Thank you Mary for brooding them for me! While we were visiting at Mary's house, 3 of them displayed - so looks like at least 3 boys.

How are they doing? Did the broody take them tonight?

She went back to the nest at 2:00, so I gave her the babies. She tucked them under her. I left her in the nest (2nd story of the nest box) until tonight, then I moved her to private quarters with the babies and she settled down on them.

That's wonderful!

That is great news Kelly. Sorry I missed your call. We were outside being stupid. Really. have a new broody. I put the three new babies in a cage inside the cage with the month old Cream Legbar and she went nuts. She was clucking at the babies to get them to come to the side of the cage and get food off the floor. It was so cute. Then she jumped up on the cage and I had to put a board over it to keep her from hurting herself by getting a foot caught in the bars.

Tomorrow I will put down paper towels instead of the shavings and let the babies out. They are doing quite well considering the little male pulled his umbilicus out dragging the shell.
