I took a ton of pictures today. Most didn't turn out so good. But, OMG, I started counting...... and counting..... and counting. I quit counting before I got through all the coops.  :ep

Ummm, I have quite a few chicks growing out. :hu   I have 5 pens of grow outs, like these.....

Kathy! What do you do with all these birds? You don't keep them all do you?

One of my Isbar hatchlings had eyes stuck shut this morning. I took it out to put ointment on his eyelids and then set him down on the table in the screen room. Michael had placed our 4th of July decorations there yesterday for me to put away. I just put the baby down as I needed to put the cap back on the eye ointment. When I looked up I saw what a beautiful picture it was. I ran for my camera. (the word ran is a euphemism for hobbled slowly up the back steps to my office) I pulled a couple of other babies out of the brooder for pics too.

No, I won't keep them all. The Delawares are a project I am working on, and I want to grow them out to see who I will keep for the next generation. I expect I will keep about 10% of them.

Awwww, those are great pictures! I especially like that first one! It reminds me of a picture I have seen of Benjamin Franklin.

Do the other 90% get added to the freezer? or do you manage to find homes for them? It's so many!!
