It's almost impossible for me to keep up with this thread.... But I'm Mr. Mom all week and I'M TIRED! (DW is in Tampa for the convention)... so glad the hurricane didn't spoil things for her.

I only got 19 eggs all last week. I hate this heat. I cant' wait until ALL my NYD and Easter girls start laying. My only steady layers are my TJ Leghorn that I got from Meg, my Production red, my barred rock and 3 of my Icelandics. None of my Ameraucanas, Olive egger or Easter eggers are laying. Makes me sad. Oh well.
I was going to put garden in this week, but I always wait until the 10 day forecast shows nothing above 105... once that day comes, in goes the seeds and plants and then LOTS of water and Miracle grow.

I'm down to less than 20 hens. I know, unbelievable.

Next year unless I can get some fertile eggs out of my Icelandics and Ameraucanas, I won't be hatching, rather I'll be making a purchase of 40-50 chicks from McMurray as soon as they have all the breeds I want available.

My mom was in Tampa too - not for the convention, my aunt lives there.

I'm not getting many eggs either - between broodies and molting. Thankfully 2 pullets started up today.
