TURKEY RECIPE

I thought this sounded good! Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing ingredient -- imagine that. When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when turkey is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out.
Give this a try.

1 - 15 lb. turkey
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good)
1 cup un-popped popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT IS BEST)
Salt/pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt, and pepper.
Fill cavity with stuffing and the un-popped popcorn. Place turkey in baking pan making sure the neck end is toward the front of the oven, not the back.
After about 4 hours listen for the popping sounds.

When the turkey's butt blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room,.... it's done.

And, you thought I didn't know how to cook...

Well, that recipe sounds just great! Thank you very much for sharing it with us!

I'll bet BYC is going to turn into a ghost town for the next four days. I'll checked in over and over and no one will have posted. 'Tis sad, but family comes first. Wait, we are family! I'll just have to let you get that "other" family cleared out and you'll be back. I know I will. Gotta' go put the popcorn in the bird.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Kathy, I loved that song! Different words to a familiar tune!! DW is doing her thing with the youth group at Church. They are delivering six full meals to some disadvantaged families... all they'll have to do is cook the meals up.

I went shopping to two stores for DW to help get it all ready.

I took DS#6 and DD to see Wreck it Ralph, they enjoyed the movie... me not so much.

I did get a chance to go out and open up the 2nd pop door and the only ones who took advantage of the semi green grass by the coop were Icelandics... so I ran in and got my camera.

This is Phyllis... She has a "do"

Here is a "group shot" from left to right. Arby, Blackie (original huh?), Blucy, Cloud and the tail end of Goldie.

Whitney is the one with the white tail, included in the pic is "Rose" the large Icelandic behind the run fence with the HUGE Rose comb... include also in the pic is the tail end of Larraine, my Australorp and Blue, my EE. Blue has YET to lay an egg. She came out of one of 'bargain's eggs.

Here is another shot of Phyllis

And Blackie, walking away. I had a black hen larger than her that had a huge crest and she laid very large eggs like Rose, but one day she just passed away for seemingly no reason.

Phyllis eating some bread, with Blucy and Cloud getting ready to take a piece of bread out of my hand!

Cloud, Phyllis and Goldie.

Another shot of Phyllis and her amazing crest.

Not pictured are Ida and a couple of others.

We're all just left speechless from your hoarding blogpost. We've never seen neatly organized hoarding. You should call the show and film them when they arrive, the look on their faces would be priceless.
