I went shopping today. Not shopping shopping, antique shopping. There is a co-op near us that is absolutely huge. I am looking for things to go in the parlor with the grand piano. When I met Michael my entire house was furnished with antiques. Over the year's I gravitated to modern design but I have ben slowly gravitating back. I had a lamp that Michael called my whorehouse lamp. He thought one like it would go perfectly in the parlor so I went out looking for one. Found it! The lampshade is a copper color, just looks link in this pic.

I also found these reproduction metal signs to put on the coops. I know we have all seen them coming and going but I still like them! The milk sign is to go out my back door by an antique milk delivery cooler I bought before I knew for sure I was getting the house!

I thought this was cute to put on the service porch. It is not a flat picture, the items stick out so it looks really nice. Even the straw is real! Cute for 8 bucks.

Then I found this old hat rack with horseshoe hooks and had to have it for the foyer. I picked up the hats one aisle over from the rack.
BTW the picture, the light switch and the wall are all straight. I was standing up on the stairs so it got a little skewed.

Tomorrow I am driving to Davis, about an hour from here to pick up an old iron daybed frame for the downstairs bedroom. Little by little it is coming along. I got shelves up in my feed shed yesterday and that all organized. Tomorrow morning I hope to get started building a brooder inside the little yellow playhouse and making room for my incubators. I think I am going to take down the screen door and throw it away since it is pretty beat up and then change the real door from opening in to opening out so I have more room.

very nice !!

anyone doing Jersey Giants or any other large chicken breed in Norcal. I have my kitchen set up to raise some partridge penedesenca eggs my friend on here was going to hatch for me. It appears none may hatch out of 26 . Darn dark eggs. does anyone else have issues hatching dark eggs? Now out of 48 penedesenca eggs I have bought in total I have had 4 crele hatch back in May. ugh !!!! No wonder the breed is falling off the map.

Cooper, I got two Penedesenca eggs in my dark egg layer variety pack and it looks as if both are developing. That doesn't mean they will hatch but at least they were fertile. I still can't be sure about the dark eggs because I still haven't found my amazing flashlight I used to candle with since the last move!

where they from Gabbard? that is where mine came from. They hatch much better when they are your own that is for sure. ours where fertile just not wanting to hatch. Ron put 9 in lockdown for me they where suppossed to hatch last night so we shall see.
