Step 2 Kiddie Barn Coop

No---it was done last year--they have been using it since late spring 2017. I worked on it last winter in our garage... I'm just way behind in posting again. :idunno
So, no problems through the winter? Also, do they have a run or just free range?

No issues. I do have a dog kennel run...but--never added it on. It does have insulation blown in the walls from the bottom. Every seam is caulked and painted. It is very nice for winter. I have an old shower curtain rolled up on front--so--if it rains/snows heavy n wind blows..I can drop it down over the front wire door. Keeps things dry. I'd never lock anyone in during hot summer time though... I drilled side holes in the very top to add ventilation, but--it gets hot unless it is opened up in summer here. Although---due to our horrible WIND---the back and one side window are completely wired AND have plastic over them....always. If you can leave them open w just wire---the heat may not be an issue. My birds have 3 coops to use...this is the laying & 'play' coop. They tend to lay in here..I have a table and 2 roosts added in w a nest box(walmart metal tub) on the table. I can reach in the side window---and collect eggs. One side of the window is fixed shut and the lock is bolted into the wood I used in there. I also added a 4 inch removable wood lip to the front--so hay/bedding stays in when the front doors are wide open...so..I can throw treats/scratch in during cold/wet times and they have a dry place to stay busy. I placed a block in front--they jump up and in. They also seek shade under the coop during summer....and gives a place to dash when hawks/threats come around. Plus--it's cute!! I'm just very happy I put the time and effort into repurposing this little barn. It was well worth it.
