I dunno . . . don't care. Other people's relationships are just that; other people's relationships. What I do understand is letting the last memory of a dead person be a good one, even if the truth is stretched a bit. I particularly like the method Royal Tenenbaum used on his gravestone in The Royal Tenenbaums. If we weren't so against the burial of remains in cemeteries I would be copying that shamelessly.

Again, I am all for us talking about what a great ball player he was and about his generous community work and philanthropist attitude. Those things are all true and are definitely things that, as a role model, we want to show all his young fans. But he is not a "man of character". Why even mention it? Leave it out completely. Don't even talk about it. Sure, let's honor the dead. But don't lie about his character and hold him up as a model of behavior when he was not. Scores of little kids around the region are watching and learning from this.

As Nancydz said, let's focus on his career and community work.

Now, who was in charge of bringing the hohos and dingdongs to this party? I need a snack...

Anyway, he has been a very good football player (the men in my family said) and not a good example of a husband and father to his wife and kids (the women and I in the family).

As far as pro sports stars go , I can't think of a better role-model for kids than the other MJ. Michael Jordan. I might be mistaken, but I have never heard a bad thing about him. Before you call me an idiot and start telling about some news story where he was the bad guy, Its just I have never heard a bad thing about him. As far as McNair: Just another example of a pro star not being able to handle the money. Just my thoughts.
