First thing ide think of is a mould

Incubators dont need to be sterile but being an incubator its an excellent place for moulds to grow, and bacterias

Anything wood in an incubator should be sealed with water based poly, and anything plastic should be wiped and cleaned with soap

Lots of people incubate with dirty eggs but i always try to use the cleanest eggs to limit any organic matterial getting in besides the eggs. always Avoid washing eggs

I turn 5 times a day by hand, washing my hands first
I keep temp at 99-100 degrees
humidity is 55%
