stiff feathered chick????????Should I wash it?

My one chick hatched, out of 4 possible (at least one did) but it had some pieces of shell stuck on it, took them off but the feathers are hard not fluffy and it is definitely dry. Should I clean it off or leave it alone?

I've had a couple with this issue in the past and I just leave it alone and it falls off in the brooder.

You could wipe it with a cloth that has warm water on it, but its not going to do any harm if you just leave it..
