still air incubator temp/humidity spikes

Checking temp on my eggs yesterday, I also forgot to mention that I have a separate therm/hygro for room temp. I noticed that the humidity on the LG is exactly the same as my room humidity. It says it is 48% like room, but my hygro at bottom of where eggs are says 29%. I wonder if anyone else notice this on LG. I normally just use for hatcher but hubby was like "we need more ducks" lol so not sure. I do know this... If hygro going down next to egg, we good. I also know that duck eggs have a LOT of moisture. So either thats ambient coming from surface of eggs which you can cross back to an ambient/outdoor % and get a higher humidity lol ( language is chicken lol) or someone at the factory put it in baxkwards lol. I'm not used to styro still air for incubating just hatching. For my really important eggs, Brinsea takes over.
It's only until you are a hatcher that you realize just how much work the girls work their butts off. I was up ALL night trying to get stabilized only to realize my DH turned Ac up a degree which causes that side of house to be hotter. Sitting on covered toilet to let everyone not to use and spread germs and I am exhausted. Lol I don't think my broodies are pulling their breast feathers out to control humidity, I think they are pulling out because they are screaming "would you guys please settle down so I can go to sleep. Your bumpy, hard and one minute hot and one minute cold! Ugggh!"

Have you checked the one at the bottom with another one---to see how close they are reading??

I am sure glad I have about stopped incubating in the Styrofoam(well I never had that problem of temp up and down) for sure not in my cabinets. I adjusted my hatcher thermostat in the summer, ran it through the winter----in a unheated building---some times the room temp would be in the 40's and some times around 90, ran it through another summer---17 months steady every week. Never had to even tweek the thermostat and hatched 5600 eggs in it. I did use the Styrofoam and hatched a couple hundred in them---but did not have to tweek unless I had the turner in and removed it, but the Styrofoam were mainly kept in the house.

Your lucky to have bigger machine to control temps... I can't imagine! I don't use styro either but Brinsea is full... I have 2 hygrometers in styro unit both read same.

Got LG stabilized.... Place aquarium pump onto my fluid line and within 2 hrs egg temp 99.6! Hatcher is ready!
