I know I read something about a year or so ago that a chicken can develop spots on their legs because of Mareks.. HOWEVER.... I have Production red x speckled sussex as well as barred rocks that all have at least a few spots... All of them walk normal and are very healthy.. I ruled out Mareks when one of my girls died quite suddenly and I did a necropsy.. I found absolutely nothing wrong with her (sent pics of my findings to Mississippi State) and figured out that she came off the roost and ran head first into the nest box, killing her instantly! Unless they are acting strange or the spots get worse, I wouldn't worry too much about it..
I did notice that it was lile the redness on my roos legs/feet.. I noticed them as they reached maturity... I never saw anything on their legs and feet when they were chicks... May just be ones of those "signs of age"??
