Still Scared at Bedtime....

Mine are just goin gon three weeks and roost already, we put a piece of wood up when they were about a week old, and they knew what it was for - unfortunatly its not big enough for all of them now - so some roost on the feeder.

I've also used only a ceramic bulb for heat, so they don't get used to the light on 24/7 - I hope our transition into the coop goes a little easier.

Right now the second it gets dark - all my girls are fast alseep

Well....without any rhyme or reason, what do I find last night about 7:30 when I went down to peek in the coop window? All 7 of my girls up on their roost! They were still crowding each other and I have no idea if they stayed up there all night, but when I went down this AM I DID notice that there was a single, parallel line of poops on the floor under the roost! It looks like some time was spent up there at last!! Hoping it wasn't a fluke and that I'll find them there tonight too....ah the simple joys of being a chicken-mamma....
