Still trying to figure this one out

This paint silkie is 8 months old. No crowing or mounting. But also hasn’t laid an egg.

I think it is a cockerel, too. If you have other roosters they might be keeping him from crowing and mating. I will be surprised if it turns out to be a pullet because the comb is big, and the hackle feathers seem long.

I’ve been thinking it’s a rooster for so long. I had a younger buff silkie that ended up being a rooster but he left couple months ago.
