Stinking skunk killed some of my babies!

I had checked on them before bed time. They were resting in the leaves. I now have hot wire set up. It reached through and bit them to death. I lost to guinea and one chick. I am so sad!

Sorry about your loss, but why do you think it was a skunk??? I would suggest 24inches of hardware cloth around the lower half of your run walls...

Because I grew up on this land and when I was a child I lost my only frizzles to a skunk that we caught in the action. To late of course. Well we have had a skunk run through here for last few nights. The babies had bit marks just like my frizzles. It was traumatic as a child now it just ****** me off. We are planing on doing just that. Only I have to wait until weekend for "man" power. We put in a roost that is low to the ground in the middle of the cage and hope that they will sleep there. We also hot wired the pen so we are hoping not to loose any more.
