stinky face-update, not so stinky

Well, I've got to say that I feel a little stupid. I went ahead and cleaned her face with Betadine last night. When I checked her out today, still the same. Looked really wet, but no smell, as well as no signs of irritation or infection. I felt around on the feathers and realized that they weren't really wet, but more oily. I decided to go ahead and wash the area. After washing, I went ahead and blow dried, since of course I got her more wet than I was planning. Well, as I am drying her, her feathers start to look all beautiful and fluffy again! She apparantly had some oily substance stuck to her feathers! I feel sooooo stupid. As I'm drying her, I start putting things together. I had thrown a bunch of apples out for the chickens to eat. Blondie always seemed to have her face in them. I'm guessing that it must of been the juice, even though it didn't smell. It only smelled the first day, but maybe that was from yuck sticking to the sticky feathers. I went ahead and removed any extra apples that were in their yard. Now if she looks wet again tomorrow, then I guess I will be back to square one. But I'm pretty sure that was it. Thanks again to everyone who tried to help me figure this out. I feel like such a dork!!! Oh well, at least it wasn't something bad. (hope I didn't just jinx myself
