Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

I got a verification email also. Her is what I wrote back to her.

Dear Kim,
Yes this is a valid email address. I live in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and for nearly a year I have been following the story of Mikaela Rodriguez and her horse. If there is any help you can give her it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Lisa

I received an answer back already. Here it is with my reply.

Hello, Lisa. I have asked Mikaela if she would like to speak to the record. I can assure you, if she wants a platform, she will get it.
Kim

Kim,
Thank you for that. Sometimes it takes the media to bring injustices to light and I am happy that you are willing to do this. This is a great opportunity for your newspaper to shine in the spotlight with such a huge public interest story. Good luck to you and all involved.
Thanks,
Lisa

So now lets see if they interview ROPO.

I have to say I can see the newspaper's point of view, and it's probably in RoPo's interests not to tell them too much with a case pending. Equally it doesn't make sense to insult or offend the one paper that is actually covering the story.

You know, I do believe her that people are calling and saying that the comments are all coming from Mikaela. That seems like what people *would* do. I also think that, as I said yesterday, comments directly attacking their town are probably as the reporter said more harm than good. That is certainly not going to win over the locals (although coming from a small town myself, I'm not sure *anything* could). I still think the articles they have done have been *very* skewed towards being sympathetic to the thieves (and that is what they are, every last one of them, including the uncle). The other obvious solution to me in addressing the supposed phone calls the paper is saying they are getting making accusations that this is all one person would be to do an actual New's story about the internet support mounting from people around the country and mention BYC or Facebook, etc... I am not sure why they can't do something like that. It's all so ridiculous. They all just seem to be filled with excuses. One would think the newspaper would do that if only to take some of the pressure off themselves.

I know they are probably now reading this thread too. So to them- This is a LIVING creature we are talking about. This is not the same (in my opinion) as a crime that has already been committed. As far as I am concerned, the crime is still in progress. Put yourself in this young woman's shoes. Imagine how you would feel if someone else was holding your beloved animal for ransom and you had been fighting them for MONTHS. Can you even imagine? Have some compassion for the victim here and stop painting these outlaws (yes, that is what they are, pure and simple, whether you can publish that or not) as the victims. It seems apparent that you are trying to elicit sympathy for THEM, not the victim.

Quick question, but since when did news not pick sides and paint people in bad lights even in cases still being tried?

I hear almost EVERY DAY about the Casey Anthony case going on where they are saying, "it's so the mother the mother did it. See! Here's a picture of her at a party a week before her daughter went missing!". Then in the last few minutes the investigators will take two seconds to admit they don't actually have proof of ANYTHING being tied to her mother being the murderer? :hmm;

Hey guys I have gotten a couple of e-mails from someone asking if my e-mail is valid.
I have also gotten some responses from fellow BYC members.

Anybody else getting these?

Sounds like the town paper is messing with us.
