Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

If I was allowed to know his address, you can bet I would be there right now. They haven't released his information to me because I am not supposed to be there without law enforcement.

The "only" one who knows the actual uncle's property is the deputy...he's probably home in his bed asleep. Originally, the plan WAS to have him drop Max at a neutral spot for a vet check, etc. But, since the uncle did not contact the DAs office and sheriff's office, it had to be done in a writ.

...wat... how does no one but the deputy not know where this is? Well, quotes tell me "officially" in that no one wants to tell you. Blaugh... this situation is made of fail but come tomorrow he is still yours either way.

whew... i just read this whole post today. what a terrible situation! having spent many years working in the legal field, i can tell you that, sad as it is, the run around that you experienced isn't particularly unique. although the extra shadiness of some of the people "in power" is particularly bad. it just sucks that someone who is completely justified in needing their assistance is put through the ringer.

my best advice would be to MAKE SURE you take pictures of Max BEFORE you load him. make sure they are date and time stamped. you want to be able to prove that, if he's in poor condition or has obvious problems, those problems originated on that man's property rather than cropping up after you took him home. i wouldn't put it past this guy to try to say that he was fine when you took him even though he's been saying he's in terrible shape. i would also take a picture of the address marker AS you pull in. that will give you that extra little bit of reference AND show what time you arrived at the house to retrieve him.

good luck and be careful!

For starters that town cant be that big you cant ask around if anyone knows where so and so lives is it? Play the friend that is lost trying to find his long lost friend.. Someone has to know where he lives for some cash. There is somebody that knows where horses are in their county...

Nooo, I hate to say it but if the DA wont tell you it its for you and Max's own protection. Like, from the sound of it they really really want an officer there and doing it without might get you in trouble.

Well that and, as we all know, half the dang town has been covering for him, delaying things, and so on... what are the odds they're going to say or do anything NOW to do her a good turn... I reckon between slim and none.

But, I'd be at that deputy's house a dawn... tick tick tick....
