He's actually 1/2 Paint, 1/4 QH and 1/4 Appaloosa. He takes after his sire ALOT.

Max is now barefooted!!!

Huge milestone...I was afraid he'd be wearing shoes into the winter! Now he's just feeling the ground for the first time in a long time...ouch.

Farrier said he has a mild case of flat feet, which I can definitely see. If it winds up he can't deal with being barefooted (although he has been barefooted since he was born) I'll put shoes back on him.

I didn't really find anything to help with the flat feet other than regular trimmings? Did I miss it somewhere on the link?


He's really ouchy today...going downhill was an awful thing for him. I felt really bad and he obviously was ticked off at me today. Poor guy...

Forgot to say that I also measured Max today!!!


He's 15.3 hands, just barely under 16 hands. Weight was approximately 1100 lbs. He's a BIG boy apparently.
