Stop Flyin' Outta The Box!

Oye, week old chicks are giving me a headache come brooder cleanup time! Oh my gosh! Put two chicks in box, put another two chicks in box, three chicks fly out of box, put two chicks in box - WAIT A MINUTE! I found a taller box in order to temporarily relocate the chicks, but my goodness! And once you catch a few, they know what is up and become speedy little devils!

Even after giving them some egg yolk for interrupting their normal daily activities into order to clean, they are still giving me tiny stink eyes.

Luckily I have an extra large dog kennel. Otherwise, I'd have 5 chicks on the loose.

If you can cover it with a sheet they won't fly out

I understand the feeling of trying to keep the darn things in.
