Stop Rooster Crowing

I guess you would say I am nuts because I encourage all of mine to crow

I have 3 full grown roosters and at least 5 4 month olds, the 4 month olds are now starting to really crow well! I just love to hear how they sound and all are different. We have a rooster band going on at my house

At our poultry club meeting we had a Judge from the county fairs there. He was asked the question is there any way to stop a Rooster from crowing.

He smiled and said there is one way, he made the motion like taking a knife to the neck. Then put him in a pot.

I have 8 hens, five Ducks and one big bad Roo. He is the king of the Coop and he rules everyone in sight. (even me!!)
He crows at 5:00 am on the dot every morning....I havn't set my alarm clock in two years now...then he crows ALL DAY until He goes in for the night. It is a territory thing. I dont mind of course because we live in the Country and if you live in the city, it's probably not a good idea to have a ROO. You cannot change the natural call's of these bird's...let them crow to their hearts content or give them to someone who will appreciate the sweet sounds of "cock-a-doodle-do"
Loving my Roo in Kansas.

Is that why my sweet Chicken Joe crows everytime he sees me?? LOL He crows all day long!!! I love it..its so cute... especially at 6:30 am!!

On another note.. a good friend told me, country chickens crow around 6am...city chickens crow around 8.

LOL

I adore the sound of my roosters also. And apparently my neighbor loves the sound of her 9+ little yappy dogs...but luckily I don't have to hear them at 5:30 in the morning.

those darn city chickens stay up all night partying!!!

My ROOSTER doesn't usually come out and crow until sometime around 10 a.m thanks to lighting around here (we're third shifters) but my PARROT has learned to mimick it and goes off EVERY GOD darn TIME I MOVE. And it doesn't sound like a nice cock-a-doodle-doo. No. It sounds like a rooster being pulled backwards through a cheesegrater.

we have count em, 8 roosters, well after last night when my dear MIL decided she had to go and get a black arucauna(sp?) rooster to get some rumpless mutts LMAO

the NN boys are just starting to crow, and one of them doesn't "cock-a-doodle-doo" either, he sorta "ERRRRRRRRRRRerrrrrrrEEEEEEEEERP!", it's not annoying, it's HILARIOUS!, I crack up every time I hear him.

In 60 plus years I have found only one fool proof method to prevent roosters from crowing and it involves a permanent stay at freezer camp.

OMG -- my worst fear currently. I'm brooding chicks in the house and the roos are just thinking about crowing. I wanted to get them out before the parrot hears them because we will be in the same boat!

.... and it's not funny
