Each year feral animals/birds cause the destruction and deaths of countless native animals. While I like and love all animals I am on the oppositions side on this one. Many of Hawaii's wildlife are going extinct because of the many species people have brought to the islands. Once extinct they are gone forever.

This is a very controversial issue. I've lived in Hawaii 23 years and know people on both sides of this issue. I personally love to watch all the feral game chickens running around (some of my friends hate them), and I don't like the idea of gassing them which is often a very slow, painful death. However, the sheer numbers of them are at times a destructive nuisance, and I think at the very least controlling those numbers by trapping and feeding them to the hungry and needy is a good idea; even though I'm not certain how practical it would be.
