Did you deworm her? I have 1 that I thought was a runt (not sure if chickens have themOh jeez so sorry I literally forgot about this thread. She still seems to be doing great! She's flying around too. Eating and drinking plenty. Stands her ground to other chicks in the pecking order. She may be a touch bigger but not much has changed. She is very sweet and energetic though when she sees me coming with the food![]()
No I didn't. I dont know how she would have been exposed but I will go get the stuff tomorrow and do so.Did you deworm her? I have 1 that I thought was a runt (not sure if chickens have them) she’s 7 weeks. Originally the 7 week roo was smaller than her but he’s almost as big as our 8 week olds now. She’s just feathering out in her head this week. She was a natural hatch but got left behind so our friend put her in the brooder with their other new hatches & our daughter chose her when we got our chicks from them. If it were worms would I see them in her poop & would she still be acting normal this long? She’s a sweet & spunky baby. She loves cuddles when she wants them & will fly up on my shoulder
I was just curious if it helped… I’m wondering if I’m having a similar issue with my 7 week oldNo I didn't. I dont know how she would have been exposed but I will go get the stuff tomorrow and do so.
I’m so gladGREAT NEWS! She's growing! Almost 20 grams in just a few days! I can feel more meat on her as well! She started growing when I sold all her friends (all but one). Im wondering if they were all too stressful for her. She ate and drank plenty. I also got the real Nutri drench and not this stuff my local breeder makes. So both happened at the same time. I guess ill never know whether is was Nutri drench of lack of competition. Hopefully she keeps growing to full size and can be a normal chicken!
I seem to be having the same problem. I have 21 good sized at 6weeks and one tiny one (looks about 2-3 weeks old) and they all hatched and arrived together. Mine is a Dominique. I'm a newbie, how do I deworm? I'm guessing a medicine. Why would this happen to one and not the others (they're all together)?I would deworm her as this often is the cause for failure to thrive.
