Stopping the goat kids from headbutting people

There's a noise you can make that imitates a warning sound made by goats - makes them bounce away every time! Put your lips together and blow a quick, loud burst of air. I had a huge nubian/boer cross that used to stand on his hind legs, as if he would butt me. He stood taller than me! I'd make that noise and he would drop to all 4's and run away. If you make the noise consistently when you anticipate a butt, they tend to give up the idea. And of course, no pushing back on their heads!

Okay...I hope I get it right.

Very helpful advice. I have recently aquired 2 two yr old togg does. They are big and clumbsy and seem to not understand their boundries. I have pushed their heads at times, to move them off. I didn't know any better.

The sound you want to make is much like the sound of a human sneeze. The goats do that as an alarm system (good or bad alarm). You will start to hear them do it the longer that you keep goats. The nose flick does work as does the ear pinch. Sometimes the size of the animal and the position you are in when it happens dictates the method that you will need to use. When I go into the big goat pasture, I always keep one hand free. When I am in with the little goats, I ignore aggression. If your goats are horned, remember to treat them like you would a sharp butcher knife in the kitchen.

LOL! I thought I was the only one that made that sound at my goats. My husband thinks I'm crazy. But it works really well for me. I hope it works for you too.
