Store bought eggs hatch along anyone? I'm buying regular organic.

Candled last night and threw out 13 eggs so I have 77 going into lockdown today. All of them were fertile but a number of them quite midway which I am sure is due to poor handling and refridgeration. Can't wait to see what hatches out. Had six of these hatch last week but they got mixed in with all my other chicks that hatched at the same time. More new chickens soon! I will post pics when they hatch.

Just got an email from "Pete and Gerrys Heirloom eggs" They do not keep and roos so I'm out. but will join you next time I have a broody. I will get eggs marked Fertile. I just couldn't resist those beautiful eggs!

Yes, I set 4 doz Trader Joe's eggs on the 10th in the afternoon. I may take them to a friends af some point to incubate to keep my husband happy but at some point I'll get them back after they hatch. I wanted to start them at her house but she didn't want to drive all the way out here - we live 50 miles from town - so I just set them out here. I know moving them would be hard on them but I do have to keep my husband happy and he thinks I have enough chickens.
After I do these I might just have to try to hatch some of Albertsons cage free eggs.

It looks like I will be hatching the eggs. My friend's DD needs surgery. I'm pushing her to take her to the Mayo clinic (I don't know if that is how you spell Mayo for the clinic) the problem might be a bad problem.

I tried 3 dozen cage free eggs from various grocery stores. I looked for the most recent dates on the cartons but none hatched.

SOoooooo, I'm out. I had Pete & Gerry's heirloom eggs. I checked. They were clears. And apparently they do not keep roos. So, I will try Trader Joes....

Yup all of mine were store bought. I am the meat manager there so I can grab the eggs when the guy brings them in. He is a local Amish guy that sells them all over around here. So far I have two blacks ones and two reddish yellow ones. The blacks look like bsl x bsl babies. The reddish ones look like production red chicks. Can't wait to see what else hatches. I am hoping for more reds but we will see.
