Yes, they do.

which eggs did you get from TJ's? Their organic brand? When I was there they had 5 or 6 different ones.

The TJ,s eggs says fertile on the box. If I have time tomorrow I'll take a picture of the box. There is another thread on here that has pictures of the box. It did take me a little time to find the right eggs there. They were in the cooler, @ $2.50 a dz.

I am getting very excited now! My eggs are in the bator and I am hoping for the best. They are a brand called "rock island" They are very pretty, many are speckled and darkish brown. There is one that is very misshapen with one side of the shell being pretty flat and it's almost completely oval instead of egg shaped,I am eager to see if it's viable. I have never candled before so at some point I may ask you guys to walk me through it.

What did I do- did you set today too?!

I just set the store bought Ameracauna eggs I had gotten. There were a few different shades of green in there, so I am hoping one is from a fertile hen. ;)

What day can I candle?

I just bought some Cage Free Organic Americauna eggs from my grocery store (Pete & Gerry's Heirloom Eggs). It doesn't say fertile eggs anywhere on the carton. Has anyone had any luck with just plain cage free eggs or do they have to specifically say 'fertile' eggs.... I'm thinking of popping them in the incubator just to see.

any thoughts?

I'm on day 18 with 6 of "Pete and Gerrys Marans eggs" I can't candle them they are so dark, so we will see. They were not fresh and traveled from New hampshire to california so not much hope but I'll know pretty soon!

Just for update the duck eggs I set at the same time were mostly clear 2 are all dark. I don't have much experience candling I'd say they are either rotten or I may have a duck or two.

The duck eggs are from WF they are from "Salmon Creek ranch" I email the owner and she said they have one drake in a large flock of ducks. So some maybe fertile. She says they are Khaki Campbells, which would be great!

I just updated the participants, look at the info and let me know if I missed anything. Also, I was thinking I should write everybody's set date so if you could post that for me that would be great. :D

Yes, I set 4 doz Trader Joe's eggs on the 10th in the afternoon. I may take them to a friends af some point to incubate to keep my husband happy but at some point I'll get them back after they hatch. I wanted to start them at her house but she didn't want to drive all the way out here - we live 50 miles from town - so I just set them out here. I know moving them would be hard on them but I do have to keep my husband happy and he thinks I have enough chickens.

After I do these I might just have to try to hatch some of Albertsons cage free eggs.
