Store bought eggs hatch along anyone? I'm buying regular organic.

My broody is off her nest around 30 minutes each day. You can always wait until you see a pip then put them in lockdown. I put some eggs in my incubator and forgot to mark my calendar. I took an egg out and sacrificed it to check the development. I thought I ruined my hatch and thought the eggs had been in the incubator longer so I put them in the hatcher in lockdown. When I opened the egg the chick was moving and I thought it was about 4 or 5 days away from hatching so I put the eggs back into the incubator. To my surprise a couple of day later I heard peeping in the incubator. The eggs had started hatching and some had already hatched. I put the rest of the eggs back into the hatcher. I still had a good hatch. Good luck...

Just wanted to let you all know a couple of the eggs I set with my store boughts are rockin around!

The eggs are hatching!
One problem- I have that super this thermometer that comes with the hovabator laying on top of some of the hatching eggs. The guide told me to do that and now I thinking, well that was dumb,
Should I quickly open and take it off? Or should I leave it?

I would leave on top of the eggs for a good reading like it told you. It doesn't hurt them. If you leave on the wire floor you will not get the right reading from it. So just open it back up and put on top of your eggs it will be fine. Good luck to you have a great hatch. I have had better hatch rates placing all of my eggs around the whole wall around the incubator rather then just in the middle. So I would arrange them to all be around the walls to get even heat and not to hot or to cold. That is just a tip on how I do all of mine now. You will see when they are done hatching that the ones right under the fan in the middle don't like to hatch. So that is why I do it that way and I get great hatch rates out of all of mine after that big change. I also keep my temp at 99.5 as close as possible as I can sometime it drops to 99.4 I just leave it mine all hatched and humidity at 75% and if it goes up to 80% that is fine if it tries to go above 80% I lift lid to let some air out. I have hatched polish tolbunts, blk stars, OB's, Lav Orps, the smallest chickens in the world sereams, Silkies, BBJ crossed with silkies, and bantams. I do mine all the same way. That is my input to all. Have great hatching all.

Oh and if they are hatching them open only one vent plug so they can breathe and they don't die. You really don't need to open both unless you are going to watch till all are hatched out before you take them out then if there is a lot of them hatched out at that time is when I would open the 2nd vent plug only if you have 2 vent plugs. I have 1 bator that only has one plug on it to so then I just pull that plug out if there are pipping and starting to crack there shell. Then I have 2 bators that have to vent plugs. Just a FYI my 1st hatch I did I killed mine by not pulling the vent plug for them to breathe.

Hey everyone, my eggs haven't made any progress. Two of them have cracks on the side, and I can occasionally see the flap of eggshell moving up and down but they are the same as when I first reported. Soooo what does this mean?

A chick just hatched! Not store bought but one I set with them. Some store bought ones are wiggling though!
This egg wasn't one of the ones that pipped this morning though. Those are the same.
