Store bought Fertile eggs are hatched! With Pics Go to p3

I did some reading on this and for eggs to be sold as "Fertile Eggs" at a store they must prove about 85% fertile as said by the USDA. Free Range will most likly not have a roo with them as really most folks do not like thinking about eating fertile eggs. I have heard Safeways sells them, and I would belive that larger heath food stores do carry them.
At this time it looks like I have 6 that will make it. The others have not piped yet. I am going to give them another couple days, but as these pipped and zipped so fast I do not have much hope. At $10 for the 4 doz eggs and 6 chicks that made it, it looks like I payed about a $1.75 a chick.

That is great. Can't wait for pics. I have taken a couple of my fertile eggs out of the fridge before and incubated them and they have hatched. So I know it works as long as they are fertile. Guess God had to make these critters strong that way in order to survive.

Keep us posted.

I knew this had worked for some other BYC people....

Do post pics....

Well I ended up with 6 chicks. One has a rear end problem and I do not know if it will make it. I am keeping it in the bactor so the humitiy will help.
All in all I am happy with the out come. 6 chicks out of 48 eggs does not sound like much but when you think about it the odds where that none of them would have hatched. I am going in to town know to buy a new camra. I am tired of looking for my old one!
